LHCA Dress Code

General Clothing Code

The Lighthouse Christian Academy school board has established a dress code to encourage students to dress in a manner that enhances the reputation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With institutional preferences in the areas of neatness, cleanliness, and appropriateness, students are requested to demonstrate a heart of humility as they abide by the guidelines established herein. The following guidelines do not imply that other forms of dress are sinful or wrong but have been established to promote attentiveness and responsibility within the classroom, foster school unity, and cultivate respect within the school community.

The board prohibits any appearance of clothing that violates the dress code policy outlined in the Lighthouse Christian Academy student handbook and on this page.

Please note LHCA reserves the right to update the dress code as needed to require students to wear school uniforms, including shirts and outwear containing school logos, as warranted by school administration and/or the school board at any given time.

SCHOOL SPIRIT FRIDAYS

Students are expected wear LHCA purchased t-shirts to wear on Fridays. Students may also wear jeans that are properly sized, without frays, rips, or holes, and are worn around the waist, on Fridays.

Pre-K NOTICE

Children may wear comfortable clothing that meets age-appropriate needs, such as knit pants and shirts, for the purpose of independent dress and restroom needs. All other guidelines regarding the school dress code apply.

STUDENT DRESS CODE AND SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Some classroom activities may require specific dress guidelines or additional spirit days may allow for changes in the dress code. Any such changes will be explained by school staff and addressed through various forms of school communication.

Administration will serve as the final authority in dress code interpretation and is the final arbiter in any areas of dispute. Students and parents/guardians are encouraged, whenever in doubt regarding specific clothing items, to ask the administrator for clarification. We rely on our partnership with families to encourage our students to make wise decisions regarding our dress code policy.
