Academics
Our Commitment to Learning
Our students are nurtured to develop spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We seek to educate the whole child through safe, supportive, and engaging activities. Children develop integrity and character as they pursue wisdom through becoming life-long learners and problem solvers from a Christian worldview.
We strive to start our day in God's Word through learning Bible lessons, developing the fruit of the Spirit to mold character, and through nurturing a healthy prayer life while becoming equipped with the full armor of God.
Weekly chapel services foster a heart of worship and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Emphasis on STEM and STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), based on hands-on learning to promote critical thinking and reasoning skills.
Focus on reading, writing, spelling, math, social studies, science, music, art, physical education, and all academic areas from a Christian perspective.
Academics are taught from a biblical worldview from Christian publishers, such as, BJU Press and Purposeful Designs, while supplementing with Saxon, Harcourt, Abeka, Five Ponds Press, McGraw-Hill, and Houghton-Mifflin.
Recess helps students release energy and maintain attention in the classroom, as well as aiding learning through the development of social and emotional skills through play.
Cooperative learning groups based in inquiry lessons aid students with developing problem solving abilities.
Our lessons are meaningful and relevant to activate prior knowledge and scaffold students towards understanding new concepts.
Students are assisted with individual goal setting and monitoring progress throughout the year.
Google classroom helps students practice learning in a virtual environment.
We believe in utilizing a wide variety of teaching strategies through direct teaching, small, cooperative learning groups, graphic organizers, mnemonics and note-taking skills, setting goals and providing feedback, developing a growth mindset, and monitoring progress through formative and summative assessements.
We stand for the pledge of allegiance to the Bible, the Christian flag, and the American flag.
We honor diversity because God created us all with a purpose and a plan in His image.
We make time for field trips and holiday celebrations to extend learning beyond classroom routines.
